Metro Pillars

To reach out to communities…stretch our limits and promote innovative platforms in school for knowledge and growth… the Art department is doing a project with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation wherein our students are guided to enhance the aesthetics of metro pillars by the medium of mural using small ceramic tiles. Theme for the same is ‘Lost Art Forms of India’- which includes Warli, Madhubani, Kalamkari, Traditional Dance forms, Traditional Instruments, Heritage sites, etc. It fulfills a variety of functions within that public sphere, providing opportunities for : artistic self-expression; community dialogue; education and enjoyment; inspiring participation in appreciation and creation of art; community problem solving; enhancement of the physical infrastructure and environment; and celebration and transformation of place. It can provide a new way to experience the city enhancing the aesthetics of that place.
